Security

The security of communications has recently seen an increase of interest by many parties, both from the customer and prime sides. The most obvious mission is the Galileo positioning system, which requires a series of very secure communication links with the ground. For most of the security and encryption purposes, ESA and the European Industry are working on cryptography solutions implemented onboard satellites. These solutions must be very efficient, must provide the right set of measures to counter cyber-attacks towards and unauthorized access to the spacecraft while the access to their development status and information must remain restricted.
