The section domain covers RF payloads/instruments for telecom, navigation and Earth Observation/ remote sensing applications.

Responsibilities

SMOS , mission proposed and promoted by ETP, reached 6 years of operational life!
SMOS , mission proposed and promoted by ETP, reached 6 years of operational life!

The section’s responsibilities include:

  • In coordination with other sections and TIA, definition, evaluation and promotion of advanced concepts for RF payloads for future telecom missions.
  • Collaboration with equipment and antenna sections on the assessment of new technologies for future telecom payloads
  • Support, on payload aspects  to  telecom mission projects
  • Contribution, in coordination with navigation, equipment  and antenna sections and D/NAV   to the definition, evaluation and promotion of advanced navigation payloads for future evolutions of GALILEO  and EGNOS  missions.
  • Support to GALILEO and EGNOS projects, on the area of navigation payload and signal in space performance.
  • Promotion, in coordination with  Earth Observation directorate of advanced new concepts for RF sensing  instruments ( i.e. SAR, altimeters, scatterometers, radiometers, GNSS-R…)
  • Support to EO projects on the area of microwave instruments
  • Development and maintenance of software tools for payload and remote sensing instruments,  for both internal R&D and support to projects.
