Stray Light
Quantifying and managing scattered and stray light within high precision space optical systems is always a challenge. Part of the approach is to quantify and measure the amount of straylight scattered from or by optical and baffle surfaces and coatings. This type of measurement data is used to update optical models and to correlate and verify performance predictions. In the optics laboratory we have a multi wavelength capability to make Bidirectional Scatter Distribution Function (BSDF) measurements with high angular resolution and sensitivity.
