N° 20–1995: ESA at the Paris Air Show, le Bourget, 10-18 June 1995

A huge, full-size Ariane 5 mock-up will be the main eye-catcher this year at the Paris Air Show, but to make the public aware of the successes and achievements of Europe's efforts in space, ESA is also exhibiting a spectacular display in its 1200 m2 pavilion located next to the mock-up.
The ESA pavilion will host a "living" replica of a satellite test facility, a sort of huge "anechoic chamber" where the transmission/receiving performance of satellites and their behavior in electromagnetic fields are tested. An ERS-2 full-scale mock-up will dominate from above the central exhibition area, where an ISO 1:1 model will also be on display. A "virtual reality" section will stage a rover moving across simulated planetary terrain....
The press will have plenty of opportunities to meet ESA management representatives and specialists during a series of daily encounters at the ESA pavilion, according to the following calendar:

11:30-13:00 Astronauts event: European, American and Russian astronauts (EUROMIR94, STS-66/Atlas 3 and STS-75/TSS mission crew members) tell their stories.
16:00-18:00 Press briefing on the International Space Station. ESA, NASA, Russia (RKA), Canada (CSA) and Japan (STA) management will present the status of the ISS. A discussion will follow.
