N° 54–2023: Media advisory: ESA project astronaut Marcus Wandt upcoming mission

In preparation of the upcoming launch of Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3) and with media accreditation for the launch now open, ESA invites you to meet ESA project astronaut Marcus Wandt at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany, on Wednesday 15 November.
Marcus Wandt is currently preparing for his first mission to the International Space Station. He will be a mission specialist on Ax-3. Marcus’s mission, called Muninn, is supported by ESA and the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA). The mission will last up to 14 days, in which Marcus will take part in microgravity research and educational outreach activities.
The Ax-3 crew will launch on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft to the Space Station from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida no earlier than January 2024. Media accreditation for the launch of Ax-3 crew is now open, further information can be found below.
Media who are unable to attend the press conference at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in person are invited to join and ask questions via a dedicated online platform.

Media accreditation deadlines for Axiom-3 launch (all times CET)
- International media without US citizenship must apply by 05:59 Saturday 25 November and must also provide a photocopy of their passport or visa to media@axiomspace.com before the deadline.
- US media must apply by 05:59 Saturday 23 December.
