1867: On 27 October 1867, John Wrottesley died.

Wrottesley was an English astronomer who published The Catalogue of the RA of 1318 Stars. Wrottesley became a founder member of the Royal Astronomical Society. He recorded over 12 000 observations at his first observatory in Blackheath, London.

In 1841, his father died and John inherited the family estate of Wrottesley Hall, near Wolverhampton, England. He built an observatory there.
