2002: On 7 October 2002, the Integral logo was fixed to the side of the Proton rocket due to launch ESA's Integral mission later in the month.

Located at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, final operations were carried out on Integral's fairing on 5 October. This included mechanical operations such as filling up access holes, fixing venting ports and some electrical checks. Now that the Integral spacecraft was within the fairing, the Proton launch authorities were driving the schedule of activities, according to their proven record of timely launches.

The Integral logo, brought over from ESTEC, was fixed on 7 October.

The top section of the rocket was lifted on 8 October by two cranes and loaded onto a railcar for transport to the Launcher Integration Building.
