Download this media kit to learn more about the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) lunar-Earth flyby. All the infographics from the media kit can be downloaded individually below.

Following its launch on 14 April 2023, Juice is returning to Earth on 19–20 August 2024, with flight controllers guiding the spacecraft first past the Moon and then past Earth itself. This ‘braking’ manoeuvre will take Juice on a shortcut to Jupiter via Venus.

Juice's ultimate goal is to make detailed observations of Jupiter and its three large ocean-bearing moons – Ganymede, Callisto and Europa – with a suite of instruments. The mission will characterise these moons as both planetary objects and possible habitats, explore Jupiter’s complex environment in depth, and study the wider Jupiter system as an archetype for gas giants across the Universe.
