The STS-78 shuttle mission was launched at the end of June 1996. ESA had five major facilities and responsibility for more than half the experiments onboard the multi-discipline Life and Microgravity Spacelab [LMS] mission. These experiments studied the effects of gravity on the human body, the development of plants and animals, fluid behaviour and the processing of protein crystals and metallic alloys. Crew members were as follows: Tom Henricks [NASA], Kevin Kregel [NASA], Susan Helms [NASA], Richard Linnehan [NASA], Charles Brady [NASA\], Robert Thirsk [CSA], Jean-Jacques Favier [CNES]. The video contains recordings of in-flight experimentation.
