The Functional Cargo Block, or FGB, which has been named ""Zarya"", is the first module of the International Space Station. It will be put into orbit by a Proton launcher on the morning of November 20th, 1998. The Zarya carries all the propulsion and attitude control for maintaining the orbit and will provide all the electrical power and communications equipment for later missions.
