- Description
ESA's Parabolic Flight Campaigns take place twice a year on board the A-300 Zero-G airbus from Bordeaux, France. Scientists from all over Europe are invited took design and conduct microgravity experiments on board these flights. This programme focuses on the latest campaign which took place in March this year and details the types of microgravity research that is carried out on board these flights.

Every year ESA invites scientists from all over Europe to design and carry out experiments in microgravity, not in space but on an aircraft, as part of the successful Parabolic Flight Campaigns. The 32nd of these campaigns took place this year from Bordeaux-Merignac airport in France between the 18 and 22 March on board a refitted passenger aircraft, the A-300 Zero G airbus.
The principle role of this campaign was to conduct research experiments in the absence of gravity and at gravity levels other than that on Earth, and to prepare experiments for space flights on board the International Space Station. In general Parabolic Flight experiments are conducted in the fields of Physical Sciences and Life Sciences and this campaign was no exception. In addition to the 5 physical science experiments and 5 experiments in Human Physiology there was also a Biology experiment and an experiment proposed by students.
Human physiology experiments conducted in microgravity primarily focus on
