00:00 Title Slate: INTEGRAL Tracking Extreme Raidiation Across the Universe
00:05 Launch to orbit
Launch by a Proton rocket in Baikonour
The orbit : upper stage firesm pushing Integral towards its final orbit. The upper stage seperate and Integral deploy solar arrays.
Once every orbit, Integral pass through the radiation belts that surround the Earth. Its orbit is calculated so taht 90% of the time, INtegral is away from the interference of the Earth«s radiation belts.
When out of the radiation belts, Integral will look in different directions, taking science observations.
01:15 Death of a star
The core of inert iron of a red giant star collapses and the star explods, releasing large quantities of Gamma rays.
Supernovae can create neutron stars which can often ge found by radio waves or x-ray and gamma ray pulses. these are known as pulsars
Sometimes a Supernovae can create a black hole, releasing gamma rays
02:20 Deep space monsters
Black holes with their mass of millions suns feed on passing stars.
