The starting point of a brand new
chapter in the European space adventure.
French Guiana's equatorial forest will become the site of all the
infrastructures necessary for Soyuz, including workshops, a railway for
bringing the rockets to the new launch pad which will be similar to theone here at the Cosmodrome in Baikonour Kazakhstan.
The advantage of launching Soyuz from the Kourou spaceport is that it is closer to the Equator than Baikonour. In fact the russian rocket will be able to carry double
