On Tuesday 2 May 2006, the German Chancellor Andrea Merkel will participate at a ceremony in Bremen (Germnay) to mark the completion of the Columbus Laboratory, Europe's major contriobution to the International Space Station.

For over five years now, astronauts from around the world have been living and working together 400 kilometers above Earth, onboard the biggest outpost ever built in space.
