Columbus Control Centre the brain of European ISS operations
With Columbus attached to the International Space Station, ESAs Columbus Control Centre near Munich in Germany will take full responsibility for operating the European Space Laboratory. The Flight Control Team there will monitor and adjust all activities inside and outside Columbus for the next 10 years - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thanks to them, the astronauts on board the ISS will be able to do their job, conducting scientific experiments on behalf of European scientists in a safe and smoothly operating Columbus laboratory.
