ESA TV News Special Ministerial
Format 4:3
The European Commission and the European Space Agency have teamed up to launch the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme.
GMES forms the response to the European need for operational geo-spatial information services. It provides independent access to information for policy-makers, particularly in relation to environment and security.
The implementation of this flagship programme will be discussed during the Ministerial Council Meeting in The Hague.
The story, with new graphics, shows how GMES developed and which benefits and regular services can be expected from GMES based on future ESA satellite missions.
