      The Swedish physicist Christer Fuglesang, a member of ESA Astronaut Corps, is scheduled to fly to the International Space Station on the STS-128 mission. During this 2 week mission, Christer will carry out experiments and make two spacewalks outside the station performing maintenance and construction tasks and overseeing the operations of Leonardo, the European-built Multi Purpose Logistics Module, that will bring scientific hardware and experiments to the ISS. This video introduces Christer, outlines his mission, and takes a look at his training at NASA Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas

      At the Johnson space centre in Houston, USA, ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang is busy preparing for his second mission into space.

      His rigorous training regime spans many different facilities, each designed to replicate conditions onboard the International Space Station.

      This 53 year old Swedish physicist has already visited the ISS for real ñ in December 2006, he spent 13 days in space onboard the shuttle Discovery whilst it was attached to the station.

      During this mission, Fuglesang made 3 spacewalks ñ known as Extra Vehicular Activities, or EVAs. He spent a total of 18 hours and 14 minutes outside the station carrying out maintenance and construction tasks ñ focussing on the installation of a section of truss, which acts as the backbone of the ISS, as well as rewiring the
