    • Description

Replay of the Space for Inspiration event that took place 14–15 September at the London Science Museum as a celebration of the diversity and pervasiveness of space in technology, industry and culture.

The International Space Station is humanity’s first major foothold outside of Earth. It has changed our perspective of our world forever, and has shown that our future – while unclear – is not necessarily bound to our planet.

Sustaining human life in space is no simple task, but the steps we are taking today will be remembered for generations to come. As we conduct deeper research into how that might be possible for longer periods of time, we are learning more and more about our bodies, and what we need to survive and grow as a people.

These are the early days of the greatest adventure of modern times. Join us as we share the latest insight and opinions on the most important topic imaginable – the future of the human race.

This session moderated by former ESA astronaut Reinhold Ewald includes talks by Pete Worden, Breakthrough Initiatives; ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano; Hervé Stevenin, ESA Leader of Neutral Buoyancy Facility Operations and the EVA Training Unit; and Suren Erkman, University of Lausanne (UNIL).
