    • Description

Our satellites in space give vital information for our everyday lives, but space can be a hostile space. Apart from the extreme temperatures and near-vacuum conditions, the space around our Earth is also hit by radiation from the Sun, cosmic radiation and small fast-moving debris. By monitoring the skies and managing space traffic, we keep our satellites flying safely. We also watch for solar storms and for hazardous rocks or comets, while researching how we might deflect a dangerous asteroid in the future.
