- Description
On 6 April 2023, first-ever member of the ESA astronaut reserve with a disability, John McFall, took part in a parabolic flight sponsored by ESA and Novespace in Bordeaux, France.
ESA offers parabolic flights for short-duration scientific and technological investigations in reduced gravity. These flights follow a parabolic trajectory, providing about 20 seconds of weightlessness for each parabola and are the only way to provide microgravity with humans without the need for extensive astronaut training or actual flights to the International Space Station.
