    • Description

Simulation of the Mars flyby by the Hera Spacecraft. The images on the right-hand side are simulated images with the three on board cameras. The Asteroid Framing (AFC) provide images monochromatic images in visible light (artistically coloured in the simulation), Hyperscout-H (HS-H) observes in a range of colours beyond the limits of the human eye, in 25 visible and near-infrared spectral bands. The Thermal InfraRed Imager (TIRI) – supplied to the mission by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA – sees in mid-infrared spectral bands to chart surface temperature. The pop-up figures are images taken be the AFC. They can be compared to the simulated images.
