On Wed 30 Oct 2002, ESA astronaut Frank De Winne embared on an 11-day mission to the International Space Station - Odissea. De Winne became the second Belgian in space and was the third European to visit the ISS within a year and was launched on board a Russian Soyuz, the new TMA-1.
This transmission, direct from Baikonur, includes a 20-25 minute B-roll (international sound) on last launch preparations, including roll-out of the Soyuz launcher
