The ESA Launcher Programme is not resting on its laurels but looking to the future, to make sure that it is ready to meet new needs and promote European access to space. At present, one of the main deterrents to making more use of space is cost. If ways can be found of reducing these costs then new users and uses for satellites could be found for the benefit of Europeans and European industry. This is why ESA's Future Launchers Programme is important. Its job is to develop, assess and demonstrate the technical solutions needed for future launchers, and ensure that quality and safety are maintained.
