This image, taken by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA’s Mars Express spacecraft, shows a section of the Ophir Chasma, a northern part of the Valles Marineris canyon.
This perspective view was calculated from the digital terrain model derived from the stereo channels. It shows a view looking east, with the rounded and apparently smooth Baetis Mensa ridge in the centre of the image.
