This image represents the temperature of an area in Spain affected by forest fire and corresponds to the false colour image of the same region. The burnt area appears in bright colours, indicating higher temperature.
The data were acquired by the Airborne Hyperspectral System carried on an aircraft during the Sen3Exp campaign to support the development of the Sentinel-3 mission. Although the fire had been extinguished when the aircraft flew over, the data can be used to test the fire channels on the Sea Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) for the detection and mapping of fire events.
