ESRIN’s cornerstone ceremony, 27 September 1968, with ESRO Director General Hermann Bondi speaking, and Chairman of ESRO Council Hendrick van de Hulst attending. This event was attended by about 200 peeople and the Archbishop of Frascati, the Cardinal Secretary of State and Cardinal Bishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani, gave the blessing of the stone.
