MTG-I1 in the cleanroom

The Meteosat Third Generation Imager-1 (MTG-I1) satellite on display in the cleanroom at Thales Alenia Space’s facilities in Cannes, France, before its three-week voyage to Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

Following on from the first and second generations of Meteosat satellites, the MTG mission will deliver essential data for weather forecasting from geostationary orbit for the next two decades. The MTG mission comprises two types of satellite: four MTG-Imagers and two MTG-Sounders.
