Maps portraying the extent of the flooded areas in some of the most affected municipalities, including Faenza, were generated with information on the depth and volume of the water. The image on the left shows the water depth (m) over Faenza from 17 May 2023, extrapolated by processing satellite data and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) with the SaferPlaces platform.
The image on the right shows the estimated economic losses in Euro for residential buildings in the city of Faenza. They were computed exploiting the SaferPlaces damage model using the water depth maps as input.
