Field-scale evapotranspiration in central Spain

The animation shows evapotranspiration estimates for an irrigated agricultural area in central Spain. The amount of spatial detail revealed when combining Copernicus Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 observations allows for detailed monitoring of water use within individual pivot irrigation plots. At the same time, thanks to daily acquisition of data by Sentinel-3 satellite, a dense time series can be obtained, thus capturing the temporal evolution of evapotranspiration in the different pivots.
