What’s new in the STEM Learning and Inspiration programme?
The STEM Learning and Inspiration programme (3-18 y/o) is to encourage and strengthen STEM teaching and learning practices through innovative didactics, stimulate the curiosity of children and pupils, and motivate them towards STEM studies and careers. Straight from our heritage, we are keeping formal school education (curricular) at the core of what we do, especially targeting the teachers, but we are adding new target audiences, an increased focus on inspiration, and much more.
- We are keeping STEM didactics innovation at the core of what we do, continuing to pursue R&D in the application of the real practice of science in education, we’ll further promote interdisciplinarity, and reinforce role modelling and career awareness as linked to 21st century skills and to the emerging workforce skill needs
- We aim at reaching an enlarged, diversified audience: in addition to school (curricular) education, we are opening to early-ages education (3-6 y/o) and to the non-formal (extracurricular) education settings; we are going to explicitly address diversity and inclusiveness. And we will be engaging parents as key players in the education path and career choices of their children
- We are encompassing new subject knowledge, skills and competences: reinforcing AI, coding, robotics, climate & environmental sciences; adding cybersecurity, entrepreneurship as well as system thinking through the use of downstream space themes (space applications)
- We are using new delivery methods such as e-learning and, to the extent possible, serious gamification and use new technologies (AR/VR)
- We are running inspirational actions, to stimulate youngsters’ interest in STEM and space;
- We plan to reach a higher number of participants.
