Implementation of ESA’s Digital Agenda
ESA’s Digital Agenda for Space will be implemented gradually as an evolution of existing programmes, procedures and working methods as part of ESA’s modernisation process. It will be guided by ESA’s information management policy, internal workplans, continuous consultations and co-operation with all stakeholders.
Some initial steps in this digital transformation have already been achieved or initiated; these include:
• The esa-star contracts scheme
• The “EO-OpenScience conference” held in September in ESRIN
• The process for the release of a subset of our images under a standardised ‘creative commons’ licensing scheme to support broadest media take-up of ESA images
• 3D printing and advanced manufacturing.
• The prototyping of an ESA space taxonomy to help information searches.
• The prototyping of digitally supported board meetings.
