A close-up image of the Expose-R experiment, installed earlier on the outside of the Russian segment of the International Space Station by Expedition 18 spacewalkers, 10 March 2009. The European experiment was equipped with three trays containing a variety of biological samples to test their reaction to being exposed to deep space.
