Ship routes plotted over time

Accumulated plot of AIS position reports received from 2-7 June 2010. Ship routes appear clearly. The distribution appears as expected - note the waters outside Somalia, where the traffic is very low. Ship detection seems to be in line with performance estimates; the actual performance will be evaluated through comparison with reference data.
