Massive global changes are sweeping across our planet, and they are expected to continue – from natural disasters, food shortages and climate change to demographic shifts and competition over limited resources.
These challenges can be addressed, in part, from space. Reliable information, fast and up-to-date data and secure communication services are of great importance to understanding and reacting to these calamitous shifts. These tools are important for international coordination and needed to keep emergency services, national and regional governments and other civil organisations informed, connected and secure.
With the cooperation and support of 22 member states, ESA is in a unique position to foster space safety and security efforts in Europe.
