Floods in central Italy

Catastrophic flooding caused by several hours of heavy rainfall struck the Marche region in central Italy on 15 September 2022. These Copernicus Sentinel-3 images show the area before and after the torrential rains. In the image on the right, acquired on 18 September after the event, sediment plumes are very evident all along the Adriatic coast.
