Snowy Apennines

The snow-covered Apennines in central Italy are featured in this cloud-free image captured on 30 January 2023 by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission. 

The previous week's intense snowfall left its mark, especially when looking at an image over the same area acquired in October 2022.

The small mountainous town of Pescasseroli, a famous winter destination in central Italy, and the lake of Barrea are visible.
