. This movie illustrates how spin-up of Didymos could lead to the formation of Dimorphos when using the internal and surface properties described in Barnouin et al. (2024). The movie shows local surface shedding could ultimately lead to Dimorphos’ formation without significantly altering some of the geology of Didymos at higher elevation while also producing the triangular like ridge now seen at Didymos’ equator.
