New Scientist Live inspires young minds about space
Hundreds of schoolkids at New Scientist Live in London joined a video call with ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen yesterday, as he orbited Earth at an altitude of some 400 km aboard the International Space Station.
Held from 7 to 9 October, New Scientist Live is a world-renowned festival of discovery and the out-of-this-world video call formed part of the event’s schools’ day, which was attended by more than 7000 kids from across the UK.
ESA also dispatched experts in exploration and telecommunications to the event to showcase the huge number of exciting career and learning opportunities in the space industry that are open to young people.
