ESRIN to inspire young minds at the ESA School Days 2025
From 7 to 11 April, ESRIN will welcome approximately 1 500 students for five unforgettable days of educational experiences tailored to schoolchildren. Registration opens tomorrow for the ESA School Days.
ESRIN, ESA's site in Frascati dedicated to Earth observation programmes, is preparing to inspire young minds at the 2025 edition of ESA School Days. This week-long event, aimed at students and teachers, offers an opportunity to explore the numerous projects in which the European Space Agency (ESA) is involved, helping participants to understand the vital role that Earth observation and space exploration play in the lives of all citizens.
Students will have the chance to participate in scientific workshops and educational activities. The topics covered will include Earth observation and the role of satellites in climate action, ESA's launcher programmes, and the study of meteorites and asteroids. Additionally, they will be able to visit the Earth Observation Multimedia Centre to see how satellite data is used to monitor and mitigate the effects of climate change. Weather permitting, model rocket launch demonstrations will be organised in the outdoor areas. The initiative, which will see the participation of ASI (Italian Space Agency), aims to bring young people closer to the themes of scientific research and the protection of our planet, offering inspiration and motivation to pursue studies in STEM fields.
The ESA School Days event will welcome primary school students (grades IV and V) on 7, 8, and 9 April 2025, and secondary schools on 10 and 11 April. Participation in the ESA School Days is free, and all sessions will be conducted in Italian. Requests for participation must be submitted online through the registration form available at this link (Italian only).
