Samantha Cristoforetti

ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti surveys the surroundings while attending a training session at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This photo was taken 1 December 2021, shortly before the beginning of her second mission to the International Space Station, Minerva. For this mission, Samantha was launched in a new SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule called Freedom alongside her Crew-4 crew mates, NASA astronauts Bob "Farmer" Hines, Kjell Lindgren and Jessica Watkins.
