This animation shows the drift and eventual breakup of the A-68A iceberg from 4 November 2020 until 31 January 2021 using data from the Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission (combined data from the SRAL altimeter and SLSTR instrument). This video was produced by the Ocean Virtual Laboratory – a virtual platform which allows oceanographers to discover the world’s waters. The Ocean Virtual Laboratory uses more than 350 datasets, including Copernicus Sentinel data, remote sensing data, in situ data and models to improve the scientific understanding of ocean and coastal processes.
